In response to the report by the Home Affairs Select Committee Report on the Migration Crisis
Refugee Action’s Head of Campaigns, Paul Hook said:
“At the centre of this epic crisis are vulnerable human beings who are fleeing unimaginable terror and destruction.
“In response, the UK can and must go further to welcome more refugees to Britain and ensure those refugees are properly supported to rebuild their lives once they’re here.
Whilst Britain’s relationship with its European neighbours is at a crossroads, our role in the world as a country with compassion and respect for those that need our help has not changed.
With more than 30 years of experience resettling refugees in Britain, we know that providing the right support to enable them to integrate fully into their communities is the key to ensuring successful outcomes for everyone.
Ensuring every arrival gets access to English lessons, for example, means that they can make friends with their neighbours and participate fully in British life.”
