I really want to reassure you that things are going to work out for you. I practise Buddhism, and there’s a principle that says that winter always turns to spring. The things that connect us are so much stronger than the things that separate us. That doesn’t mean that you’re not feeling tremendous pain at what you’ve had to leave behind, but I hope that you can make strong connections here. I welcome you and hope that you find support and happiness here. Please ignore the people that speak so strongly of fear and hate and division. That is not the energy that this world needs to live together harmoniously. The Buddhism I practise has a chant, which is Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, which I chant every morning and evening. The teaching is purely and simply about respecting and upholding the sanctity and dignity of life. I respect you as part of my human family and wish you all the very best.
